This is the blank questionnaire including questions we thought were relevant to make our film both realistic and entertaining. We asked a mixture of people to fill it out including people of ethnic minority, both working and middle class students, people who would be interested in the film genre and people who usually tend to watch different films

Final Story Board

This is the finished storyboard for our main task. One addition however is on the fourth section/picture of the storyboard that is when the 'Gritty in the city' music starts, and it is diegetic and fades out as the traitor runs back towards his friends in the first shot in the next section. Plus the scripting is on a previous upload and some of the script we tried improvising and It worked better than our script so some of it was improvised

Evaluation of Continuity Task

Filming our continuity task was straight forward, although due to one camera not working we had to reshoot one scene, but this was easily done. The problems we did come across while filming showing continuity through the use of different camera angles, but through editing them together well we mad the transition from each camera shot smooth. Another problem was sound and lighting as the cameras microphones weren't very good and also lighting in the room affected the way the clip looked , we over came this by using IMovie and adding on a filter to each clip to make them all look the same. Uploading the video to the actual blog was also an issue as the clip file that's as uploaded was corrupt.  The continuity task helped us greatly with the shooting and editing of the main task. It helped us with shootin as if helped us understand te time scale we were working under, and also how to portray different things effectively, It helped us with editing as it helped us get to grips with the software we could be using to be editing the film as we weren't all very confident with it prior to filming. We were all happy with the final continuity clip that we out together as we felt we encorpatated good shots and effects. 

Film Title Analysis

Bullet Boy Analyasis: This film opening presents a convict being released fro prison for reasons unknown, from the start we are shown he has a little brother who looks up to him and a close friend who comes to pick him up.

The convict in this film wore a grey tracksuit, we are going to use this idea for one of the characters in our film opening, The main character also uses a bag with belongings in when being released from prision, we also plan to use this idea. The language used will also be simular.

Adulthood Film Anaylasis: This film opening, like Bulletboy, presents a convict being released fro prison for man slaughter. However it also shows a group of teenagers at a party, showing themes of sex and voilence from the start.

During the opening, while the convict was leaving the prison a titles appeared establishing his crime and the time period, we used this idea in our own movie. They also presented their movie title on a fade to black background, we used this idea as well in our film opening.

 

 

 

Get Rich or Die Trying Analyasis: This film opening presents four ment in a car about to do a robbery, containing both dialogue and diegetic music. It later coinists of the main characacter being shot, then suddently flashbacks to his childhood.

The opening consists of later happenings in the film. Origionally we had though about using this idea however due to only having a short period of time for our film, we realised using this idea would have took to long. We also used this film to see the differences between low burget British urban dframas and big burdget American urban dramas.

Change in music

During the editing process of our film we realised we had issues with music. Firstly we decided that rather than using the dubstep song my friend said he would make, it would look better with classical music. After adding this classical music we realised that there may be copy right issues, due to this we tried various alternatives including trying to find non copy right music which would fit to the theme and creating our own music however neither of these were suitable for out film. we then decided we would email the choir of the classical song which we wanted to use. We also had issues assuring the diagetic music was noticeable however we managed to over come this by adding it to various different places of the same clip. Originally we had also decided to include a sound bridge between the fist and second scene as well however due to props such as the car not being available this sound bridge did not work.

This is the risk assessment I made, I shown all the crew members involved before filming to assure everyone would be 100% safe 

Our Films Age Clarification

After reading the new age certification guidelines by the BBFC, we have decided that our film will match the 15 age rating. This is because of a few things. Firstly it is because of the theme, gang crime which is already associated with late teens and adults and is clear just from mentioning the word 'gang' that there will be violence and bad language. Secondly there was a use of bad language in our film, although we did add a sound effect to the sound which muffles the sound and adds to the atmosphere. This also murmers the bad language so that it is clear that bad language is being used but it is hard to understand which words they are using. This helped us to get a little further away from the 18 age rating. Also there is strong violence in our film opening and if we made the whole film, there would be allot more such as a discussed torture scene. So based on that it is more around the 15 age rating as we show allot of violence but it is not that graphic and doesn't have much of a pshycological effect, if any. Also if we were able to get the music that we wanted in the opening, that would have also featured bad language. Based on all of this and the new regulations of the BBFC we have decided that our film would still fit into the intended 15 age rating section.
