We wanted to use this song named 'Bashy - Ransom' for one of the scenes in our movie, however due to copy right this may not be accessible. I am going to email the Artists and ask for permission at a later date.

Costume - Realism - Mise en scene

I decided to look at 'urban/hood' fashion in both the USA and the UK in order to add realism in our movie and for mise - en - scene purposes. The main difference is in america the clothing was a lot more colourful where as in the UK it would be a lot darker. In our film the majority of characters will wear dark clothing i.e hoodies, black/blue jeans and tracksuits but a small minority will wear colourful clothing as the UK are majorly influenced by the american culture.

Inspiration

Kidulthood
We looked at this from the beginning to 3:16 as it has two aspects that we plan to use in our movie opening. It blacked out into a title scene directly after the opening action as we planned to do our movie opening and the following scene featured the main character leaving prison which would be good to look at as it gave us various ideas of how we could create a scene like this in our film.

Bullet Boy
We looked at 3:10 - 4:00 as during this part the main character was released from prison and picked up by his friends, with various different shots including an establishing shot to show this and multiple point of view and over the shoulder shots to show the relationships between characters.

We also looked at the clothing and other aspects of mise - en - scene used in order to know how to create realism within out movie.

Inspiration

After agreeing that we would make an Urban Drama we decided that we should watch both British and American Urban movies to get inspiration. We decided to look at:

- Get Rich Or Die Trying
- American Gangster
- Juice

Starting up

My group consists of Toff, Jacob and myself.

Before being told our groups me and Toff had previously said that if we were in the same group the genre of our movie opening would be an 'Urban Drama' so once we found out we were in the same group we came together with Jacob and asked if he would be up for doing it as well, which he instantly agreed with. Later I went home and brain stormed ideas which I pitched to both Toff and Jacob.
